The US Social Security Department and the Oregon State Department of Human Services Senior and Disabled Services Division partner to fund this program to help the disabled live productive lives.

Primary responsibilities:

Thorough housecleaning. Preparation of simple and nutritious vegetarian meals.

Required Qualifications: Kind, honest, hard worker. Knowledge of green cleaning and vegetarian nutrition. Non-smoker. Pet tolerant (cat).

Position Announcement Gateway to College National Network

Gateway to College National Network is a fast-growing education nonprofit organization focused on re-enrolling high school dropouts and providing disengaged young people with the support needed to complete college. The National Network is replicating the Gateway to College model with support from multiple foundations. Founded at Portland Community College, the program has been replicated at 25 colleges in 15 states through partnerships with over 100 school districts since 2003. Free Weatherization Workshops

 

Brrr, it’s cold out there! Do you feel the cold breeze cutting through your house or apartment? Are your curtains or blinds moving? Is your furnace kicking on every 30 minutes? Then we can help!

Community Energy Project is offering free weatherization workshops, great for homeowners and renters alike. Participants learn how to install basic draft-stopping weatherization materials in this hands-on dynamic workshop. From internally mounted vinyl window kits to door weatherstripping, you don’t have to be tool savvy to benefit from this class. Income and area qualified participants receive a free kit of materials, including vinyl storm window kits, door weatherstripping, rope caulk, pipe foam, compact florescent lighbulbs, and more.
