Springdale Job Corps students are embarking on their first backpacking trip and many students are in need of shoes. We need women’s shoes size 8-9 and all sizes of men’s, especially 9, 10 and 11. Students leave Saturday the 28th so they are in immediate need.

If you have gently used hiking shoes you’d be willing to donate, call Asha at 503-880-5408 or email her at [email protected]. I will arrange to come to you – no travelling needed! Thanks in advance for your help!

Free Healthy Home Consultations for N/NE Families!

The Josiah Hill III Clinic (JHC) wants to make sure our homes are healthy places for children to thrive. Americans spend approximately 90% of their time indoors where the air is 2-5 times more polluted than the air we breathe in the great outdoors. Everyday cleaning supplies can be surprisingly toxic, harmless-seeming mold and mildew can trigger asthma and allergies, and the invisible presence of lead can severely affect the development of children.

At Risk of Losing Your Tax Exempt Designation?

Below is a link to an "At Risk List". Is your organization concerned that they will lose their tax exempt status just because their names are on the list of organizations at risk of automatic revocation of tax-exempt status? Do you believe your organization is not required to file because of an affilation with another exempt organization? Even though you may not be required to file, you should check the list and information below. Some exempt organizations are asking how can they have their names removed from the list, and will they lose their status simply because their name is on the list? Do they need to have their name removed? Is there a number they can call?

Volunteers for LEP High Tuesday

Come Paint It Up At LEP High Tuesday, August 24th 9-5PM

We are in dire need of beautifying our school. Most of these students come from low-income families and it would be refreshing to start new in an environment that is conducive to learning for the students and staff. It has been 3 years since the building has been painted. It needs it desperately. Please drop on by anytime between 9-5PM today to lend a helping hand. We will be painting throughout the day.

All volunteers should wear clothes that you don't mind getting a little messy. Please bring ladders, paint rollers, or any other painting equipment that you have lying around. We will provide water and snacks.
