position summary:

The Database Technician position is responsible for management of an electronic records system and correction of data entry mistakes. Additional responsibilities include development of database applications and creation of timely reports that present information stored by TIER and other company databases as requested by authorized TFS staff and in compliance with regulatory and contract requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Maintain the security and confidentiality of client records and other confidential information; - Respond to requests from TFS employees for data reports in a timely manner; - Develop stored procedures to facilitate advanced reporting; - Correct periodic data entry errors made by TFS employees; - Participate in TFS Total Quality Management/Continuous Quality Improvement processes as requested; - Participate as a member if committees and work teams as assigned; - Collect and compile statistics related to TQM processes; - Organize and enter data as directed by the Chief Information Officer.

Salary / Pay Rate:$14.50 to $16.80 per hour
Required Skills and Abilities:Operates within established and accepted office procedures and practices. Makes decisions within established guidelines, organizational policy and procedures, federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations and the requirements of this job description. Deals with highly sensitive and confidential resident information. Errors in work could result in confidentiality of sensitive information being compromised, loss of organizational accreditation and accreditation-dependent funding or the release of incorrect information, which may reflect negatively on the organization. Position functions as a support to Database Administrator, Program Evaluation Specialist, Records Manager, Network Administrator, and Chief Information Officer. Skills: Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.
Qualifications:Successful candidate will have four-year college degree or five plus years equivalent experience and education in a related field. Comprehensive experience in systems analysis, relational database systems, applications programming and software development project life cycle. Solid programming and/or database knowledge and experience. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Maintain a driving record acceptable by the agency and a current drivers license for state of residence, when authorized to use own vehicle for agency business, employee must maintain personal insurance. Experience: Minimum of two years creating and distributing database reports created using Crystal Reports; two years in development of SQL-based enterprise-level database management systems; two years development of applications using Visual Basic for Applications.
