position summary:

Oregon Tradeswomen, Inc. is seeking a contractor/consulting services to assist us to learn about and connect with women veterans in Oregon and SW Washington and the organizations that serve them, with a goal of having more women veterans enter our pre-apprenticeship training and enter the trades.

Outcomes are: • Increased OTI capacity to outreach to and serve women veterans in Oregon and SW Washington and the organizations that serve them, • Organizations that serve women vets are better able to guide them towards the trades, • Women veterans within the trades are identified and engaged in outreach and mentoring activities, • OTI has outreach materials: photos & videos portraying women vets who are now tradeswomen. • MOUs or other formal agreements between OTI and key industry partners. • Increased numbers of women vets entering OTI’s pre-apprenticeship program.

Deliverables from consultant are: 1) One to two hour presentation to OTI employment staff about women vets and the organizations that serve them; 2) Convene and facilitate partnering meeting between 3 or more veteran service organizations and OTI staff for the purpose of building understanding and partnering agreements; 3) Documentation of partner meeting (agenda, minutes, attendee roster); 4) List of veteran service organizations with key contact names, address, phone, e-mail, web site; 5) Documentation of any agreements for outreach or retention; 6) List of 10 or more Oregon and SW Washington tradeswomen who are veterans with name, address, phone, e-mail; 7) Documentation of conversations with 10 or more tradeswomen who are veterans with information about their interest in assisting with outreach, being mentors, agreement to be photographed or videoed on the job, recommendations from them for OTI; 8) Assist OTI staff to set up photo/video sessions of 3 or more women vets on the job; 9) Staff OTI exhibit at 3 or more OR/SW WA veteran outreach events; 10) Make follow-up calls to women vets as needed.

Salary / Pay Rate:Work should start by May 10 and be completed by November 30. The contract is limited to $4,500
Qualifications:Contractor qualifications include: familiarity with the topic – US Armed Services and women in non-traditional jobs. Must be an honorably discharged veteran and a journey-level tradeswoman. Travel will be involved. Must possess a valid drivers license and access to a car, be computer literate in Microsoft Suite.
