The Support Group Facilitator will facilitate discussions among participants relating to domestic violence. Two hours/week will be dedicated to group facilitation. One to three hours will be spent planning/preparing for group and completing new participant intakes.

Salary / Pay Rate:: 3-5 hours/week, $11/hour

Required Skills and Abilities:•Plan and organize materials/curricula for weekly group (topic outlines are available) •Empower survivors by fostering group cohesion and ownership among participants •Complete intake paperwork with all new participants •Maintain confidentiality of participants and group location •Attend monthly supervision, report monthly statistics for group attendance
Qualifications:Qualifications: •Strong understanding of and ability to communicate the dynamics of domestic/sexual violence •Skills in providing crisis intervention •Experience in group facilitation, peer support, and establishing personal/professional boundaries and relationship building •Understanding and ability to communicate tenets of anti-oppression theory as related to ending violence through social change and direct service. •One year of social service experience specific to domestic violence survivors and/or group facilitation •40-hour Basic Advocacy Training through Oregon Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Agency •Bachelor’s degree in social work or social sciences equivalent preferred but not required
