position summary:

This position provides administrative support to the Dean and to the programs that the Dean oversees, including academic services for the Master's program and student services for the college. The Assistant to the Dean will liaison with faculty, administrative staff and students extensively through the execution of his/her duties.

Essential Functions: • Provide general administrative support to the Dean • Provide administrative support to the Master’s program • Provide administrative support to various academic and student affairs committees • Provide project support • Contribute to assessment and evaluation processes • Maintain the calendar of the Dean • Assist with planning and execution of college events, both educational and social • Provide staff support for student activities • Assist in preparation of required reporting to regulatory bodies • Assist with the maintenance of the Student, Teaching Assistant and Faculty Handbooks • Assist with administration of make-up exams for students • Assist in the preparation of the Dean's annual budget • Schedule meetings • Set up and maintain a system of files for the Office of the Dean

Salary / Pay Rate:$15/hr, 20 hours/week, part-time with benefits

Required Skills and Abilities:Knowledge: Knowledge of higher education administration is desirable Skills: • Expert-level skills with Microsoft Outlook mail and calendar • Advanced skills in Excel, including making charts • Excellent verbal and written communication skills Abilities: • Work independently and as a team member • Quickly establish working relationships with a large number of faculty, staff and students • Work on multiple projects simultaneously • Ability to streamline work processes to make them more efficient • Ability to meet timelines • Strong creative problem-solving skills • Strong attention to detail • Ability to conduct research of regulation and benchmarking of other educational institutions • Willingness to help with a wide-variety of tasks to support the Academic and Student Affairs department
