Alberta Main Street Manager

The NE Alberta Street Main Street Program, one of the first urban Main Street Programs in the country with a focus on sustainability, is looking for a motivated, self-starter to become its first Main Street Manager. The Alberta Arts District is one of the most culturally diverse (both ethnically and points of view) commercial districts in Portland and as a result requires a Manager who can effectively work towards common community goals while keeping the “good of the whole” always at the forefront.

 

The successful candidate will be energetic, positive, a good community builder, an excellent communicator and negotiator and committed to the community of Alberta and sustainability. Must work odd hours, evenings and weekends and enjoy spending a lot of time walking the neighborhood and interacting with neighbors, business owners, shoppers and visitors. Must be comfortable in a start-up environment, be incredibly organized yet flexible, able to accomplish tasks quickly and efficiently, be able to work independently while at the same time taking out the office garbage/recycling.

 

Must have excellent interpersonal skills, cultural competency, strong computer and social media skills, strong office, fundraising/grant writing and administration skills. Salary: $40,000 - $50,000 + benefits
