Bitch Magazine Seeks Board Members
Hi there --We here at B-Word/Bitch are looking for some highly motivated, creative folks who are passionate about nonprofit/feminist media (and sustaining it!) to join our Board of Directors. Might that be you? Or do you know someone? Read on... B-Word is a Portland-based nonprofit, independent, feminist media organization critiquing pop culture/media best known for publishing the magazine "Bitch: Feminist Response to Pop Culture," but we're currently evolving into a multimedia organization. We've also just started strategic planning/visioning efforts -- which means that while it's a time of heavy work (10-15 hours a month), it's also an incredibly exciting time to get involved and help shape B-Word's future. Board members must be based in Portland, Oregon. We're looking for folks who are excited about nonprofit, noncommercial, feminist media to bring experience in one or more of the following areas: * Fundraising * Accounting/financial management * Online/multimedia nonprofit publishing * Nonprofit management * Grantwriting * Nonprofit law * Database management * Outreach/marketing * Movement building/community organizingIf you're interested, please go here to fill our our application:http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=_2fn7J1sQXgM_2fLXV5sIDd9mQ_3d_3d We'll contact you to set up a meeting and explain next steps as a candidate.* If you want to be involved, but feel like board commitment is more than you can give right now, please consider joining our fundraising, finance, or strategic planning committees. Email [email protected] if you're interested! * Also, please note: As the list of needs suggests, board members aren't involved in content/editorial creation/direction, so if you're looking to get involved that way, please visit our contributors' guidelines: http://bitchmagazine.org/contributors-guidelines
