Building the Kitchen Commons: Community Kitchen Meal & Visioning

What are community kitchens? How can they be used to reduce hunger, improve health, create jobs, and strengthen community ties? What would it take to turn a kitchen in your congregation or neighborhood into a community kitchen?

We’ll share a meal together and learn from leaders in Portland who are working to open kitchens for uses like cooking classes, cooking and preserving together, nurturing new food entrepreneurs, and more. Bring your appetite (dinner provided!) and ideas for a project in your organization or neighborhood!
