Anger and resentment, often common themes with couples who have experienced addictions issues, will be explored. Counseling Men Effectively workshop at at PSU this Friday and Sat

Counseling Men Effectively with Arthur Wray Pascoe, PhD

Research describes women requesting counseling at a five-to-one ratio over men. Men tend to finally seek help when their partner is threatening to leave, their job is in jeopardy or their functioning is impaired due to depression or substance abuse. Once in treatment, practitioners often protest that men are difficult to engage and are more likely to terminate treatment early. In this workshop, explore the unique challenges and distinct advantages presented by male clients for both male and female therapists.
