On Sunday evening, January 24th, we will celebrate poet Bobbie Burns' birthday with a Scottish pubsing at The Lucky Labrador Beer Hall, located at 1945 NW Quimby St in Portland.
From 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the Lucky Lab Beer Hall, we'll sing songs from the Scottish tradition of work songs, lullabies, children's songs, songs of love and many others. All songs will be led and there'll be chorus sheets so everyone can join in.
Requested donation of $10 per adult, $5 per child to raise funds for Portland Revels which produces the Christmas Revels. Food and drink are no-host.

CEP is an independent nonprofit organization that provides interactive workshops on home weatherization, lead poisoning prevention and water conservation while providing direct services in these areas to seniors and people with disabilities. Farm Apprenticeships are 3 months long - Spring, Summer, and Fall – with the opportunity to apply for multiple sessions.
Description: Farm Apprentices participate in all aspects of sustainable, small-scale farming, including growing a diversity of annual crops from seed to harvest, tending perennial crops, caring for farm animals, and sales of farm products.
Time Commitment: 28 hours/week, 3-7 months
Compensation: $200/month stipend

Energy Conservation Technician--Beaverton School District
Northwest Service Academy's Professional Placement program has an opening for an Energy Conservation Technician with the Beaverton School District.The Energy Conservation Technician will work with the Energy & Resource Conservation Program Manager and the HVAC Foreman to strategize, design, implement and maintain a system for more responsive HVAC event scheduling of our 50-campus District (50%). This team will also develop a strategy for utilization of the District’s interval metering data service. This includes set-up of reasonable consumption alarms and work in conjunction with HVAC department to respond to these alarms, along with implementation of a long-term departmental solution to monitor and respond to interval metering service.

The Oregon Center for Environmental Health’s next green cleaning class is coming up this Saturday, January 23rd from 10am-12pm. Participants will learn lots of tips and techniques for non-toxic cleaning in your home. You will also make your very own laundry detergent, all-purpose cleaner, and creamy soft scrub for the kitchen and bathroom. Classes are $10 for non-members and $5 for members, and participants are asked to pre-register. All materials needed for the class will be provided by the Center.

Oregon Tradeswomen, Inc. empowers women to enter into high skill, high wage careers in construction through our seven-week Trades and Apprenticeship Career Class.
Please help us spread the word about our FREE program so even more women can get started into satisfying, living wage careers.
