The City Club New Leaders Council invites you to an evening of local food and music. Local band Sleepy Bell will usher in the Salon with a live musical performance. Their intimate, acoustic sound will set the stage for a delicious dinner that will include seasonal items from local farmers markets. Nathaniel Talbot, vocalist and guitarist for Sleepy Bell, will act as provocateur, and will lead a discussion that may include topics such as what it is like to be a young musician in Portland, what some of the challenges and joys are, what the future of music in Portland might look like.

Kevin Griffin, the author of One Breath at a Time: Buddhism and the 12 Steps, will be doing a reading from his latest book A Burning Desire: Dharma God and The Path of Recovery.
Kevin Griffin is a Buddhist author, teacher, and innovator in the field of addiction treatment. The insight and intimacy of his teaching have made him a leader in the mindful recovery movement.

Salary / Pay Rate: | VISTA members receive a monthly living allowance ($833 - $865). Upon successful completion of their year of service, VISTA members can choose to receive either a cash stipend of $1200 or an Education Award of $5,530. VISTA’s also receive ongo-ing training and development as well as the satisfaction of “getting things done” in their community. |

This summer we will offer two exciting drama camps for ages 8 - 11 years old. The campers will experience all aspects of theater, from improvisation and theater games to technical and performance skills. Volunteers Wanted for Children's Benefit: Yoshida's Sand in the City!
Be a part of this fantastic event benefiting children's programming at Impact Northwest!
Each July 16th, 17th, and 18th, over 60,000 attendees visit Portland's Pioneer Square to check out our awesome sand sculptures and to support a great cause.
Volunteers are needed to assist with face painting, kids crafts, merchandise sales, set-up/tear down, and general assistance.
And, Volunteers will receive a free event t-shirt!
Calling for dancers and musicians
Do you have a passion for music or dance? Do you enjoy working with children and youth? If so, volunteering with ROSE CDC is a great opportunity to add to your portfolio while providing a valuable service to the community.
We are looking for dancers and musicians of all kinds to work with children and youth in our Summer program. Time commitment: 1 or 2 days for a total of 3 hours.
The ROSE Community Development Corporation is an affordable housing non-profit organization located in outer SE Portland. Through our Resident Assets Program, we provide resources and programming to support children and families with low to mid income. Your time and creativity would be greatly appreciated.
