Our mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals and families living with mental illness through support, education, and advocacy. NAMI Multnomah helps educate people in the Portland metro area about mental health issues. We hold regular educational events, weekly support groups, and quarterly classes to help individuals and families better understand how to live with mental illness, begin the process of recovery and sustain wellness.
NCRP is dedicated to promoting philanthropy that addresses the unmet needs of disadvantaged populations, including very low-income communities, people of color, gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender populations, and other groups facing discrimination or marginalization. The site contains a catalog of the Committee's numerous publications, the majority of articles from their newsletter, Responsive Philanthropy, and offers information about NCRP's advocacy and projects.
Native American Rehabilitation Association (NARA) Northwest, Inc.
NARA NW is an Indian-owned and Indian-operated, private non-profit providing culturally appropriate services. With a widely diverse staff of 160+ and an annual budget over $10 million, NARA works to achieve the highest level of physical, mental and spiritual well-being for American Indians, Alaska Natives and other vulnerable people. We began business as a small treatment facility in 1970 and have grown to six sites that include chemical dependency treatment (residential and outpatient); transitional housing; healthcare; mental health; family and community resources.
