position summary: | Position Posting: Site Supervisor at Beverly Cleary Fernwood and Hollyrood Campuses General Description: Part time position (28-32 hours per week) working on site to supervise and facilitate Camp Fire programming at Beverly Cleary Campus (grades K-8). Camp Fire strives to achieve the outcomes of Respect, Confidence, Leadership, and Learning, by engaging youth in activities of Service Learning, Team Building, Life Skills Coaching, Recreation and Academic Support. |
Salary / Pay Rate: | $13-14.50 DOE |
Required Skills and Abilities: | Qualities/Experience Needed: • Must have experience directing an after school program and supervising staff. • Ability to commit to at least one full school year, Summer employment a possibility. • High comfort level in facilitating large groups of youth and dealing with difficult behaviors. • Ability to directly and respectfully communicate needs and concerns to Area Director, school partners and teachers and program staff • Must have the ability to lift and carry a minimum of 40 pounds. • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and maintain a satisfactory physical level for the duration of program. • Ability to walk on natural terrain. • Ability to prioritize tasks and appropriately manage stress levels. • Experience in outcomes based lesson planning and current best practices in youth development work • High level of professionalism, creativity, energy, organization, self-motivation, empathy, and patience |
Qualifications: | Responsibilities include: • Direct supervision of 3-8 part time staff (2 morning staff and 3 to 5 afternoon staff) • Direct program facilitation for 8-15 youth • Quality control of program planning and delivery to support outcomes • Behavior management support • Assist after school partners in registration, planning and program coordination • Timely submission of needed paperwork • Modeling of excellent facilitation skills, curriculum planning, and behavior management techniques for staff |
