position summary: | Description: Cascade AIDS Project (CAP), the leading provider of HIV prevention education, housing, advocacy and support services in Oregon and Southwest Washington, seeks a Client Advocate for the CareLink program, to assist People Living with HIV to access and maintain medical care. The Client Advocate works with CAP staff, volunteers, and other agencies to provide quality services to the community. This position is 0.75 FTE (with the potential to increase to full-time) and has a particular focus on exploring ways to engage at-risk and positive youth in testing and care services. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s Degree in human/social services field (social work, public or community health, psychology) or related field or equivalent experience • Demonstrated computer and keyboard proficiency using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook) and working knowledge of the internet • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Successful experience working with ethnic, racial, economic and sexually diverse populations and persons who have experienced homelessness, persons with a mental illness and/or substance addiction • Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with community stakeholders • Good organizational and time management skills • Ability to work independently with accountability • Available to work occasional evenings and weekends • Experience working with youth PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Previous professional or volunteer experience working with people living with HIV • Knowledge of social services in the Portland Metro Area • Knowledge of benefits programs available to people with HIV • Experience working with families This is a union represented position. Salary / Pay Rate: | $19,388 to $27,344 annually at 0.75 FTE ; employer-paid health, dental, vision, long-term disability and life insurance; 401(k) retirement plan with generous employer matching contribution, 125 C cafeteria savings plan; generous vacation, and health leave benefits. |
