position summary: | We are looking for a part-time bookkeeper (8-12 hours per week) to complement our administrative staff. The ideal candidate is well versed in non-profit accounting and Quickbooks Pro, has excellent inter-personal skills, and is highly detail oriented. |
Salary / Pay Rate: | $15-$25/hour, depending on experience. |
Required Skills and Abilities: | Responsibilities will include: • Pay bills and prepare invoices • Collect and review timesheets for accuracy. • Track incoming checks and prepare deposits. • Process and track credit card transactions. • Maintain filing systems for paid invoices, deposit slips, ledger sheets, and bank statements • Prepare and file payroll tax reports, and other governmental reporting requirements. • Report payroll. • Work closely with accountant on annual audits and off-site bookkeeper on monthly financial statements. • Communicate with staff on financial responsibilities • Handle staff inquiries on grant-related expenditures • Track expenditures and budgets on a monthly basis by revenue source. |
Qualifications: | • Minimum 2 years bookkeeping with a non-profit organization • Competent with QuickBooks Pro for PC • Competent with Excel, Word, Filemaker Pro for Mac • Strong understanding of non-profit accounting • Experience working with multiple revenue streams from foundations and government agencies • Detail oriented and extremely well organized • Able to complete multiple projects on deadline • Self motivated, hard working, trustworthy, and dependable • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills • Able to work collaboratively with multiple persons in group-oriented environment |
