Marketing Intern

Garden Partners, a nonprofit organization that nurtures through nature with Therapeutic Horticultural experiences for elders and at-risk children, is looking for an unpaid Marketing Intern for a 6-12 month commitment of 4-8 hours per week depending on availability.

Earn valuable, real-world experience with a nonprofit organization who for ten years has been providing year-round, life-giving opportunities for local elders and more recently for at-risk children. The Marketing Intern will report to the Executive Director and assist with gathering information as well as layout and design for marketing materials: brochures, newsletters (paper and email), invitations, and fundraisers. There also are opportunities to assist with press coverage and community events.

Salary / Pay Rate:Unpaid
Required Skills and Abilities:• Gather content for quarterly newsletters from our Program Specialists and Program Sites • Assist with the creation of quarterly newsletters using an email marketing program • Assist with the layout and design of printed marketing materials such as brochures, invitations, and fundraising materials • Assist with writing press releases and garnering local, regional, and national press coverage • Assist with additional special projects
Qualifications:• Effective project managements skills • Ability to multi-task • Excellent communication skills • Initiative, drive, common sense, creative flair and flexibility • Adobe Illustrator - 2+ years experience • Microsoft Word • Interest in the outdoors and gardening Additional Valued Skills • Experience with basic website maintenance/updating • Web programming and developing • Writing and editing Potential Opportunity Dependent on experience, availability, and funding there could be an opportunity for this internship to become a paid part-time position.
