Business Development Volunteer
Procure business support in the form of vehicle advertising for Ride Connection’s East County U-Ride program. Revenue generated from this outreach effort will go towards the U-Ride volunteer transportation program which supports the transportation needs of older adults and people with disabilities.
Major Duties and Responsibilities: Work in collaboration with Ride Connection's Development staff to create new funding resources which will go towards solidifying expanding the current services offered through the U-Ride Program. Prepare a list of businesses with guidance from Ride Connection development staff who have the potential to be financial supporters including car dealerships, real estate firms, medical groups and others. Create, with guidance from Ride Connection development staff, a formal letter of request for a meeting and giving essential information about Ride Connection. Assist with scheduling appointments with contact person at designated business. Accompany staff to scheduled appointments with the designated contact person and eventually go to appointments alone Leave collateral materials for the contact person to review and possibly share with others at the business. Report back to the development staff the responses to the requests. Procure and deliver other materials regarding Ride Connection and the services provided by U-Ride if requested. Prepare acknowledgments to those entities that chose to support this program. Prepare final report as to the actions taken and results attained.
Time Commitment: Time commitment is flexible and variable.
Physical Requirements: Able to pass a physical with a drug and/or alcohol screening, if required. Able to pass a criminal background check. Able to keep all information confidential.
Qualifications/Requirements: Possess exceptional dedication to the mission, vision, goals and objectives of Ride Connection. Understand the basic points of Ride Connection’s funding sources. Able to speak to a variety of people in regards to the funding and transportation needs of those served by Ride Connection. Able to demonstrate reliability and punctuality. Able to speak on behalf of the needs of others.
Ride Connection will provide you with the following: Recognition for quality volunteer efforts. Opportunities to learn and serve. Partial mileage reimbursement may be offered.
