Job Announcement: ED, FOOD for Lane County
Title: Executive Director
Status: Regular, Full time, exempt position
Salary range: $74,000 - $92,000 annually DOE, plus benefits
Background
FOOD for Lane County (FFLC) has been actively pursuing our mission: alleviating hunger in Lane County by creating access to food, since we started in 1984. That first year we distributed less than 2 million pounds of food and now provide over 6.5 million pounds of food every year. The need is huge and we are equally committed to our vision of eliminating hunger. We are a passionate group of people who support the dignity of those we serve and are dedicated to finding creative and sustainable solutions to hunger in our community. We believe strongly that food banking requires the participation of the whole community.
The Position
FFLC is seeking an experienced, self-directed, collegial and enthusiastic Executive Director (ED) with outstanding communication skills to continue to build on our success. The ED provides leadership and vision across the organization and to external constituents, cultivates major donors and ensures the financial integrity of the organization.
Are you an energized non-profit leader with the proven ability to oversee and nurture a multi-million dollar organization?
Are you a proven visionary leader who has brought your creative problem solving skills and passionate implementation strategies to successfully meet challenges as great as the problem of hunger in our community? Have you been successful as a fearless fundraiser, with a track record of both raising funds yourself and leading a team to expand their fundraising efforts? Do you have passion for, knowledge of and a demonstrated commitment to social causes, ideally around issues of hunger? Can you communicate that passion clearly to inspire others and galvanize the community in pursuit of our mission? Do you have the proven ability to bring together and motivate staff and Board so that as a team, we accomplish more than individuals ever could? Have you demonstrated an ability to lead a non-profit organization the size of FFLC? Do you have exceptional skills and proven experience working successfully with a Board of Directors? Do you have the desire, experience and skills to be the public face of FOOD for Lane County, bringing together the Lane County community to address the issues of hunger?
This is an exciting, high level, high profile position and requires someone with the following experience and characteristics:
· A minimum of 10 years of proven successful leadership experience, preferably working with a non-profit organization, leading by example in a collaborative way that inspires others, builds consensus and implements change when needed without disrupting the organization.
· A proven track record in fundraising and development, cultivating major donors and ensuring the financial integrity of the organization.
· A visionary, big-picture person who sees the road ahead, not the road behind.
· Experience successfully supervising and delegating to high level management staff.
· Experience leading, growing and working hand in hand with an effective Board of Directors.
· Great written and oral communication skills, including inspired public speaking.
· Oversight of all fiscal aspects of a multi-million dollar non-profit including preparing annual budgets, monitoring expenses and meeting financial goals.
