Description
Be a founding member of a new premier Portland art festival that we be featuring the talent of aging artists along with a remarkable collection of art, crafts, photography, workshops and discussion groups that all focus on creativity and aging. All the artists will be age 60 or better but you don't have to be to help. We needs volunteers of all ages to support the artist, greet the guests and supply mobile & technical support to everyone. The event will occur on May 22, 2010 at The Mark Building (1119 SW Park Ave ~ next to Portland Art Museum), Portland OR 97205) from 10am-6pm. Volunteer are needed on both May 21 and 22 to work 2- 4 hours blocks. All volunteers will be given lunch, T-Shirt along with access to all exhibits and workshops.
Grand Works Northwest Art Festival is a collaboration between two Portland-area non-profits: Elders in Action and The Geezer Gallery.
Elders in Action is powered by volunteers, who work to solve problems, tackle important issues and help businesses and communities better serve the older customer. Our mission is to assure a vibrant community through the active involvement of older adults.
The Geezer Gallery is a not-for-profit organization that showcases talented artists in the local senior community. The goal is to support the development of local senior artistic talent and the implementation of art and art therapy program for older adults in the Portland metro.
