Help Congolese women rebuild their lives
Description
Women for Women International will hold its Run for Congo Women - Portland at Lower Macleay Park in Portland on Saturday, June 26th, 2010 at 8:30am. Registration is $35 for adults, $15 for students, and $10 for children under 12 with a registered adult. Online registration is available through June 16th at www.runforcongowomen.org/portland. On-site registration will be available. Participants can run or walk either a 3 or a 9 mile course. A children’s walk will also take place. Run for Congo Women – Portland benefits Women for Women International’s efforts to provide women in the Congo, who face brutal gang rape and torture amidst the deadliest conflict since World War II, with life-changing services of direct monetary assistance, rights awareness education and job skills training.
