Community Mental Health for Returning Veterans training at PSU

Presented by staff of the Portland Veteran's Administration Medical Center and community providers Friday June 4, 2010, 8:00 am-4, at Smith Memorial Union

Enhance the care and adjustment of returning soldiers and their families by reviewing commonly occurring mental health problems and effective approaches to care. Equip yourself with information needed to better identify and address combat-related mental health problems, enabling yourself to more effectively work with soldiers, their families, and members of the systems they encounter.

Topics covered include: higher education, PTSD, TBI, addiction, integrated behavioral healthcare, women's issues, children and family issues, suicide, threat assessment, and corrections.
