position summary: | Lost Valley Center, Inc., an education institution located in Dexter, Oregon, is seeking an extraordinary person to join its staff and to manage its finance department. This position requires a self motivated individual interested in evolving a book keeping position into a financial management position within a nonprofit organization. The person holding this position will be responsible for managing ongoing payroll responsibilities, general book keeping duties, annual budget development and monitoring. In addition s/he will be expected to support ongoing fundraising activities and to participate in organization management team activities. |
Salary / Pay Rate: | $1,100/monthly plus opportunity for bonuses |
Required Skills and Abilities: | List of specific skills/experience needed or desired. * 1-3 years experience in financial book keeping and payroll management; * Some course work at the college level in accounting and/or financial management; * Ability to be bonded; * Ability to apply generally accepted accounting principles in financial work; * Understanding of and ability to use QuickBooks, Excel & online payment processing (google); * Ability to work independently and as part of a management team; * Knowledge of financial management of grants and of donor programs; * Knowledge of educational institutions and intentional communities; * Understanding of collaborative management techniques; * Knowledge of auditing processes; * Good people skills. |
Qualifications: | Specific Description of duties and responsibilities: *Manage the financial record keeping duties of a medium sized nonprofit corporation; *Prepare and file required tax information to state and federal entities; *Prepare regular financial reports to organization BOD and senior staff; *Participate in creation of annual organization budget; *Participate in organization planning; *Participate as a member of organization management team; * Other duties as may be assigned.
