Portland Rally to Restore Sanity

The Rally to Restore Sanity. noon-5pm, Oct. 30, 2010 at the Eastbank Esplanade, SE Main & Eastbank Esplanade, Portland, OR.

Our Portland Rally is in the spirit of Jon Stewart's Rally to Restore Sanity in Washington DC. It is for people “who think shouting is annoying, counterproductive, and terrible for your throat.” We currently have more than 1,500 attendees on the Facebook event page.

Local speakers, musicians, performers and general purveyors of fun will share the stage to highlight the power of people working together to find creative solutions to difficult problems. The rally will be preceded by a "March to Keep Fear Alive", inspired by Stephen Colbert’s mock-protest of Stewart’s rally (www.keepfearalive.com). It will begin at 11am,
