Community Resource Coordinator, Housing Transitions Catholic Charities
Catholic Charities Community Resources Coordinator Housing Transitions Program Reports to Housing Transitions Program Manager 1.0 FTE (40 hours a week)
Catholic Charities is a nonprofit social services and low income housing provider organization dedicated to providing social services and assistance to meet clients’ physical, social, spiritual and psychological needs while helping to develop opportunities for self help.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities • Recruits, trains, supervises and recognizes community volunteers and student interns for one time only and/or ongoing volunteer duties at Housing Transitions. Provides monthly summary of volunteer activities and hours totals. • Provides educational outreach to school and parish groups. • Solicits donations of in-kind contributions and services. • Responsible for Housing Transitions vehicle. Maintains log of use requests by other Catholic Charities programs and resident services coordinators. Submits monthly use log to main office. • Works with Outreach Advocates to coordinate client moves into permanent housing. Participates in moves. Recruits volunteers to assist as needed. • Manages the procurement, distribution and storage of donations. Maintains inventory of furniture and household items at warehouse. Agency representative at The Community Warehouse. • Teaches and administers Ready to Rent program. Conducts four classes annually. • Administers Housing Transitions cyber immersion program. • Participates in outreach activities in cooperation with Outreach Advocates • Acts as primary staff in drop-in one day each week, or as required by program needs. • Participates in trainings, meetings and other duties as assigned by Program Manager.
Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. • Experience providing information and referrals and advocacy • Knowledge of community resources, particularly services to individuals who are homeless. • Good crisis intervention and de-escalation skills. • Experience supervising a volunteer program. • Ability to lift and carry large furniture items. • Prior teaching, training or tutoring experience. • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Public speaking experience desirable. • Good computer skills. • Ability to be flexible and work well in an active environment. • Local travel is required. Valid driver’s license and insurance required.
Salary: $30,000-$34,000 FTE
