Salmon Watch Volunteers Needed
Volunteer to teach Salmon Watch this fall!
Are you interested in getting outside & enabling students to witness salmon spawning, one of nature’s great spectacles? You can help Oregon's youth gain a deeper appreciation and understanding of the value of native wild fish, watershed conservation and environmental stewardship!
The Healthy Waters Institute of Oregon Trout is looking for dynamic volunteers to spend a day streamside teaching upper elementary, middle & high school students in the Portland Metro area through our discovery based Salmon Watch program. Field trips are scheduled for mid September through November and we are signing up volunteers now.
Email Sarah Oakley at [email protected] for more information.
We provide training, so you don’t need to be an expert in water education, but simply have a desire to learn and a passion for teaching! Training in the Portland area for new & returning volunteers will be offered on:
Saturday August 23rd 8:00 am- 12:00 noon @ Eagle Fern Park
OR
Saturday September 6th 8:00 am- 12:00 noon @ Eagle Fern Park
