Executive Director - Year-Round Before/After Care Program

Kids Community Learning Center (KCLC) is a private, non-profit, state certified, year-round before and after child care program located in NW Portland. KCLC is co-located within Metropolitan Learning Center (MLC) School and primarily serves children 5-13 years old from MLC and neighborhood schools.

KCLC’s 15+ year Executive Director is moving to CA so we are looking for a passionate, child care professional to manage this successful, community supported program. Responsibilities include: • Oversee safe, day to day operations of the before/after care program and full-time summer camp • Build strong, lasting relationships with children, teachers, parents and school administration • Develop and manage content of the program and center policies • All aspects of staff management • Manage financials for the program including maintaining the budget • Facility and equipment management • Ensure the program is compliant with the State of Oregon Child Care Division standards.

Requirements include: • 5+ years exp in a leadership position in a licensed, child care setting and meet Oregon requirements for a Site Director • Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education or related field • Experience supervising staff • Must love working with children and have an outgoing, creative and adaptive personality • Very organized, professional and focused • Excellent oral and written communication skills; comfortable using email, MS Word… • Successfully pass background and drug screen
