Date: Monday, October 6th
Topic: Awareness and Advocacy
Time: 10:00 – noon
Location: St. Luke's Lutheran Church Basement
Address: 6835 SW 46th Ave, Portland 97219
Cost: $1 - $5 suggested donation for non-members
For the kids: Dancin’ to Oregon Symphony’s Elena Hirsu and her violin! Elena hails from Julliard and is a certified Suzuki instructor (you know, those super-cute teeny-tiny violins). Elena will rouse our tikes with fun little ditties and classical greats while parents receive music tips from a pro! (Elena will answer questions about her Suzuki classes and other music interests.)
For moms and dads: Come listen to the former Executive Director of Greenpeace and the National Lawyers Guild, Barbara Dudley, speak about fusion voting and what it means for Oregon. Dudley is currently the Co-Chair of the Oregon Working Families Party. Fusion voting allows the Working Families Party to cross-nominate any Democrat or Republican who supports working families' values, or to nominate their own candidates where appropriate. Extremely smart, dynamic, and witty, Dudley will not only explain the fusion voting process, she will challenge your thoughts about traditional politics. This is one guest speaker you will not want to miss.
And our on-site sitter, Babysitter Jean!!!
Spread the word and invite your friends to check out PMM and attend a GREAT event!
