Classes on toxic-free homes and green-cleaning
Confused about harmful chemicals in your home, household products, and the baby’s room? The Oregon Center for Environmental Health is pleased to announce upcoming fall workshops for the public.
1) Creating an EcoSafe Home
This one and half hour class will provide you with the knowledge you need to replace products that can be harmful to your family and will provide you with the information you need to make safer consumer choices for every room in your home including the garage and the garden. Classes are $5 for OCEH members and $10 for non-members. Mark your calendar and RSVP today. Space is limited. The class will be offered on these dates:
§ Monday, November 10th from 5:30 pm to 7 pm
§ Saturday, December 6th from 10 am to 11:30 am
§ Thursday, January 29th from 4 pm to 5:30 pm
§ Tuesday, February 24th from 7 to 8:30 pm
2) Green Cleaning Party
The Oregon Center for Environmental Health is partnering with the Environmental Working Group to offer a green-cleaning party. Participants will learn about toxic ingredients in typical household cleaners, get recipes for green cleaners, and make three types of cleaners to take home (laundry detergent, all-purpose cleaner, and a creamy soft scrub for the kitchen and bathroom). Mark your calendar and RSVP today. Space is limited. The class will be offer on this date:
§ Saturday, November 15th from 10 am to noon
To participate in the Green Cleaning party, you must bring:
§ 1 bottle of your favorite essential oil (you’ll scent your products with your oil)
§ 2 glass jars with lids (reuse your old pasta jars!)
§ 1 industrial spray bottle (you can clean out and reuse a store-bought green cleaner after you are done with it!)
§ $5 cash or check
