Campaign Director

A coalition of public interest organizations is hiring a campaign director for a statewide political and grassroots organizing campaign in support of a comprehensive climate change policy. The coalition is spearheaded by five respected organizations: Citizens’ Utility Board of Oregon, Climate Solutions, Environment Oregon, Oregon Environmental Council and Renewable Northwest Project.

The campaign is expected to last through 2011. However, activities past mid-2009 depend on a successful outcome of the legislative session. Funds have been secured to cover the position through the 2009 legislative session. Part of the successful candidate's workplan will be to work with the coalition's executive committee to raise additional funds, both for 2009 activity and beyond. There is a preference that the campaign director would choose to continue working with the campaign through 2011, assuming funds are secured, but that is not a requirement for hiring for this first phase of the campaign (December ’08 through June 30, 2009). The position is full-time.
