Voz Workers Rights Education Project Celebration for Dia de Los Muertos

DATE: Thursday, November 6th, 2008 TIME: 6:00pm – 9:00pm

As part of First Thursdays, the Portland Day Labor Hire Site will open our doors for a display of visual art and crafts made by Portland’s day laborer community. This exhibition is also a part of a Dia de los Muertos celebration featuring traditional décor, food and Mariachi music.

The mission of VOZ is to empower immigrant workers, particularly day laborers, to gain control over their working conditions and to exercise their collective power to address the issues they face. VOZ is a worker-led organization whose membership organizes to secure and promote their rights through organizing, leadership development, and community education.
