“90 Seconds Over Toulon”

Wilton Jackson, WWII Bombardier

A partnership of Holy Names Heritage Center, Oregon Historical Society, and McMenamins, History Pub brings Northwest History to you in a lively pub setting! Come learn more about the region’s fascinating past while enjoying food and drinks. A bombardier with the 17th Bombardment Group, Wilton Jackson survived 61 bombing raids over Europe during WWII.

Using the top secret Norden Bomb Sight, he scored a direct hit on a critical German gun emplacement in Toulon, France.  Hear tales of adventure and even a bit of romance as he recounts his “ninety seconds over Toulon!” The program concludes with a moment of recognition for all veterans and the playing of Taps by a WWII bugler.
