City of Portland Native American Heritage Month Event,   Portland Building, 1120 SW 5th Avenue, 2 floor, Noon-1:00 pm. Dr. Carmen is an expert in building the connections and collaborations that are required for student successes in school, community, and entrepreneurship. She will talk about strategies and commitments needed to overcome violence, racism and outsider status and share insights from her own career in academics and her world as a professional artist. Free and open to all.
