3.) Eastport's Joy-Of-Giving Holiday Event
You are invited for a sneak peek at “Santa’s Place” – a unique way of bringing our community together.
WHEN: November 24, 2008 @ 11:AM
WHERE: 4000 SE 82nd Avenue of Roses, Suite 1400 (next door to Radio Shack) – Portland, OR 97266 When you come, you’ll get the behind-the-scenes look at our ‘The Joy of Giving’ community-building and charity event, an event unlike any you’ve seen.
Here’s the story: Let’s face it – the economy is making it more difficult for many people to enjoy the holidays this year. The merchants of Eastport Plaza Shopping Center are giving children of all ages the opportunity to come and play in “Santa’s Place”. They’ll find room after room of games and activities – and of course, the opportunity to talk, in person, with the wonderful jolly one, Santa Claus. Parents are encouraged to bring their camera and take a photo of their child with Santa. Here’s the best part: It’s all FREE! We do ask that guests consider brining a new, unwrapped toy, or non-perishable food items. Donations will stay right here in East Portland and be distributed by our community partners at the Salvation Army, Portland Police Department Sunshine Division, East County Fire Department Toy-n-Joy, US Marines Toys-for-Tots and the Parry Centers Trillium Family. This month-long event, opening to the public the day after thanksgiving on November 28, is hosted and sponsored by the merchants and management of Eastport Plaza Shopping Center.
