Community Sing Benefit for Play after Play

This weekend June 18th and 19th the Brooklyn Bay is hosting a benefit

 

Learn to make soap on Monday, June 20, 6-8pm

Join us this coming Monday, June 20 from 6-8 p.m. at 100th Monkey Studio for an evening of soap making. You will learn to make cold-processed soaps and take a sample home. Coffee and tea will be provided. Feel free to bring snacks. Cost: $11 (covers supplies, instructions, one finished bar of soap)

Oregon Global Warming Commission Workshop - June 16th - 7pm - 70 NW Couch St

The Oregon Global Warming Commission will hold a workshop in Portland on June 16 to take input on its “Roadmap to 2020,” a series of actions designed to help the state achieve its 2020 greenhouse gas reduction goal of estimated at 30 percent beneath today’s levels. The Portland‐area workshop, sponsored by the Apollo Alliance, Oregon Environmental Council and Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon, will be held at the University of Oregon in Portland at 7:00 pm and is open to the public.

N/NE Quadrant Project Open House

The City of Portland and Oregon Department of Transportation are hosting an open house on June 29th to showcase the current work of the N/NE Quadrant and I-5 Broadway/Weidler Plans and ask for feedback. Based on ideas gathered at previous meetings and events, the project team has developed land use and transportation concept alternatives to illustrate how the area could develop over time. This work will be open to public input and general feedback.

East County FooDiversity Meeting - June 27th, 2011 6-8pm - Successful grants for community food, garden, and urban agriculture projects

Have a community food, garden, or urban agriculture project you'd like to
fund? East County FooDiversity's June meeting is the meeting for you.

Guest speakers Emily Hicks, Community Liaison with Commissioner Nick Fish,
and Lora Price of Friends of Portland Community Gardens and Grow Portland
will share tips for successful grants as well as updates on the
Commissioner's Community Garden Initiative.

There will also be plenty of time for networking and sharing resources.

and be creative this summer!! Spend a week with members of the March Fourth
Marching Band in a creative immersion like no other! From July 25th-29th,
2011, young people from across Oregon will engage in an inspiring celebration
of music and dance, costumes and circus feats. Together, we will bang out
infectious rhythms, sing sweet harmonies, get funky and soulful with brassy
melodies, roll hoops around our hips, shake our tail feathers and laugh until
our sides hurt.
