Portland crafters get ready to square off at SCRAP’s Rebel Craft Rumble, Wednesday, June 15th

PORTLAND, Ore. - Armed with scissors, glue and plenty of sass, some of Portland’s best crafters are ready to go head-to-head in the ultimate SCRAP smack-down.

Local crafters who believe they’ve got enough game to earn the title of Portland’s Craft Master will square off and put their talents to the test in front of a live audience at SCRAP’s annual Rebel Craft Rumble, June 15.

Portland, Oregon – The Friends of Tryon Creek announce the retirement of Stephanie Wagner, Education Director for the Friends, on July 1st. Stephanie has been connected to the Friends for 27 years, having started out as a volunteer and eventually becoming a staff member. Her contributions to the Friends and to the area’s outdoor education programs are immeasurable.

stop at SW 6th and Mill St.). We’ll spend about an hour walking around
PSU’s downtown campus and end at Terwilliger Plaza (2545 SW Terwilliger
Blvd.), discussing walkability innovations and impediments along the way.

for lunch and a post-walk discussion.

This Wednesday is Kids Day at Interstate Farmers Market!

We invite all nonprofits that work with/for children as well as families & individuals to join us this Wednesday, June 15th for one of the season's Kids Days.  There will be lots of kid-centered fun including a kids cooking demonstration, activities in the Kids Booth, lots of free berry samples, and children's musician Uncle Yascha with his special Yachaphone that kids can use to help make music!

The market is held at Overlook Park, on Interstate Ave & Fremont St and runs from 3pm to 7pm each Wednesday.  There is a Kids Booth each week, but this day will especially be all about kids!

Daybreak Cohousing Community Offers Social and Tour on June 16

Meet members of Daybreak Cohousing, learn about cohousing and tour the community on Thursday, June 16, 6:30-8 pm on site at 2525 N. Killingsworth Street. (#72 Killingsworth bus or Max to the Killingsworth station). Daybreak Cohousing recently won a national Livable Communities Award and was named one of the nations “top 10 green cohousing developments” by Natural Home Magazine. Daybreak members range in age from babies to 70+. Homes have most of the features of conventional homes, and members also enjoy extensive common facilities.
